Scholarships to Firefly

Firefly Scholarship Program

The Firefly Gathering is a 4-day annual event held in the mountains of Western North Carolina. It aims to serve people seeking to deepen and expand their connection with the natural world. It offers more than 200 classes for adults and children. The classes focus on self-sufficiency and wilderness skills and are taught by more than 100 masterful teachers from around the region and country.  For more information about the Firefly Gathering, please visit us on the web at

Each year, we offer a handful of scholarships to people who might otherwise not be able to participate in the Firefly Gathering. We do this in hopes of fostering a strong and powerfully diverse community of Earth-centered people steeped in the earth-knowledge that Firefly has to offer, who can, in turn, work in their own greater communities, spreading this knowledge and sharing the skills they have learned with others.

Firefly Gathering offers scholarships especially geared towards under-served communities, people of color, refugee communities, folks who speak English as a second language (ESL communities), and at-risk youth. If you are interested, or know anyone who is interested, please apply for a scholarship.  For more information about our scholarship program, please contact our sponsorship coordinator Kate Eckhardt at or 303-931-7586.

If you are not in need of a scholarship, please consider donating to help others attend our incredible event!
